pictures worth a million words

These are a few images that reflect our weekend get-a-way in Vegas... "Steak" the celebrity name for "the way left's" sees, and boyfriend, "the spa suite" no explaining needed, and then there is Red at the dog prison. I'll sum up the trip with a question, since "the way left" is studying for the GMAT test, well if you call studying once a month studying, never the less...

If a bag of Red's favorite dog food cost $15, then I could of bought Red 40 bags if I would not have played blackjack. How much did I lose?
a) $500
b) $550
c) $600

All in all I had an amazing trip, thanks sees, and sees #2.. Sorry for taking you to the wrong place Red. It was the way left's fault, for not printing me directions..

my heart

to yet another successful vegas weekend...

a timeline:

1. board your beloved dog at the wrong cage-free camp
2. miss your flight
3. get denied on your first standby flight
4. get denied on your second standby flight
5. be down one hundred bucks before you've even stepped foot in Vegas (airport bar)
6. ..but you should've seen the suite the Left put us up in...
7. have a blackjack dealer named Karl and everytime he busts have the whole table yell "Hot Karl!"
8. explain to your sister what a hot karl is
9. wait in a 15-minute cab line behind some beat girls talking about how drunk they were the night before
10. once back home, try to cheat the system and pay lost ticket fee ($30) instead of the 3-day parking fee ($90) - and get caught
11. get your dog back smelling like a cheap hooker, apparently from the complementary bath he received

it's a girl

Well in the Hoovers world its twin girls. My favorite married couple traveled up to LA last weekend to see Red and join us for some dinner and share the amazing news that they are expecting twin girls. They started this cute little blog to document all of it... http://redfish-bluefish.blogspot.com/

it's not quite hump day but...

Red's been expanding his social circle by making visits to the Laurel Canyon dog park. Tex, Piper, Oscar are some of his new friends' names. And the ones we don't know too well yet, we've gotten into the habit of just making up names for them. There's Roly-Poly, Skunk, Deer, & a lot of Uncle Skip look-a-likes. He took a particular liking to a fluffy dog on Sunday. After trying the old fashioned approach, Red tried (unsuccessfully) to mount her from behind. He even took a little nip at the ol' gal to assert his dominance but was one-upped as she turned around and growled at him like the bitch that she was. And although this may all sound quite disgusting, it was rather cute seeing the little guy break out of his shell.

An old picture, but imagine what kind of creature we would have ended up with if the above successfully ... er ... "conquered" the below:

meet frank

Normally we would not post about other dogs but we're going to have to make an exception. Meet Frank.

Full name, Frankenstein Michael Jackson. He may just be Red's long, lost brother from Tennessee (really, that's where they're both from). The resemblance is uncanny, right?

vegas baby, vegas!

The count down is on 14 days until I’m in paradise. Or at least to me Vegas is paradise. Staying at the Monte Carlo, unfortunately "Terry Benedict" does not allow dogs, so I'm taking applications for people who want to watch Red, can you really pass that face up? On to other news the NFL schedule came out this week, and the Falcons are playing on thanksgiving night this year against the biggest redneck in sports Payton Manning in the dirty south, so since my mom and Red's uncle skip have been flaking out on coming out here since February I guess Red gets to see his camp uncle on turkey day.

but i'm so sleepy

The sound of rain, or light classical music is very soothing for most people, well I guess Red did not get the memo on that one, because he thinks braking and squeaking his toys all night is soothing for "the way left" and I. Who knows maybe he found "the way left’s" sees ipod and was jamming to "we belong together" by Maria Carey. It's no wonder he looks so tired in the morning... p.s. don't ask about the blanket...

the orient express and i'm a mac...

I had the pleasure of getting an evening alone with Red last night while the Left went and pretended he was Johnny "The Orient Express" Chan. Poker. He went to play poker.

Here's a shot of the little guy all bundled up and being his coy, usual self:

In other news, the Left and I have had a slew of fortunate run-ins with a-to-b-list celebrities at our favorite LA spots, the latest being the mac guy, Justin Long, also of Dodgeball-fame. Of course, the Left had to chime in with:

"Where's PC?"

back to back

Red is living the high life after cashing $150 in the Gators blow out win against Ohio St. last night in the finals. Well maybe Red didn't win the money and I did, so I'll buy him something nice.

sunday

Those of you that know "the way left" know that she is into labels and high fashion, so while "the way left" was out shopping with her mom yesterday and I was at home with Red, I decided to update his logo Redberry... what do you think?

On a side note, Red has decided to start peeing on the bed, which is really not cool, and good thing Red likes winners because UCLA is a big fat loser!
