finally

Well after months, and months of waiting, Red finally gets to see his uncle Skip. Careful Skip, Red is a socialite these days.. That also means my parnets are coming to visit, a little over due, but never the less we look forward to seeing everyone.. Keep your fingers crossed, but we are in the market for a friend for Red. What do you guys think? Mom buy me!

for the record

The challenge: Tiger Woods PGA Tour for XBox
The course: random
The players: Tiger Woods v Tiger Woods

As the Left was trailing by almost 10 strokes the excuses started pouring in. Red was irritating him with all the barking. The course is too random. He was letting me win because I was sick.

True, Red was barking a little more than usual last night and the course was indeed more random than the consistency of Pebble Beach that we're used to. And yes, I was feeling sick and in need of sympathy. But by George, I won! I actually beat the Left at something. This is not gloating but strictly for the record.

The inevitable rematch and retaliation ass-whooping will surely follow. Stay tuned.

Oh, and when I mentioned that I was going to have to blog about this, the Left asked, "What does this have to do with Red?" Well, it doesn't. But this does:

get comfortable

leaf print? who knew?

I don't know if the leaf print on the jacket reminded Red of being outside or something but this is the most comfortable I've seen him in my car:

along weekend

So as you already know, or just read I'm leaving for the Great Salt Lake today. This will be the first time I've been with out Red, (Vegas doesn't count) since I've had him. Even in Vegas when I was losing all that money I hound plenty of time to miss him, so I can only imagine that while I'm sitting at some stupid event in Utah drink 2.0 beers that the only thing that will be on my mind is Red, and "the way left", but mostly Red...j/k I will MISS the both of you!

utah or bust?

The Left is leaving for a quick trip to Utah today which means Red and I will be left together.

Alone.

Red is usually clawing away at the window in a panic if he and I are left in a car alone. And once the clawing subsides, you're left with a picture like this - one sad dog, waiting for his beloved owner to return:

funny story, funny drawing, funny dog

Funny story.

One weekend not too long ago, Red was being particularly bad - eating the Left's new couch, biting through the cable wires, barking at nothing, and the like. The following Monday, the Left asked me to do him a favor and go walk the dog after work as he wasn't going to be able to go straight home. Not long after he made the request, he handed me the following drawing and told me this was what to look for if Red's bad streak continued from the weekend and he ate the tv:

so what if i'm a label whore? Part II (preview)

A little uncensored preview:

the Left's hairy leg continues to creep its way into pictures...

this is not a celebrity blog site

Sighting #1:
Who: Jake Gyllenhaal
Where: Laurel Canyon Dog Park
Spotted by: The Left

We were having a normal morning at the dog park when the Left spotted some paparazzi in the parking lot. We scanned the expansive dog park but couldn't come up with anyone notable, except for some LA hipsters & a very tall, stick-of-a-person blond. But the Left, smart as he is, followed the line of the photog's camera and spotted Donny Darko himself as he was leaving with his German Shepherd, Atticus. Keep and eye out for some inattentive dog owners (that's us) gawking at the Broke Back Mountain star on a celebrity blog near you.

Point 1, the Left.

Sighting #2:
Who: Randy Spelling (might have to google this one)
Where: Robertson & 3rd
Spotted by: The Way Left

No story here. Just walking back from the American Apparel store when I spotted the no-lister in his Range Rover driving down Third. The Left's response was a simple and disinterested "oh".

Still. Point 1, the Way Left.

Sighing #3:
Who: Kristin Cavallari, Nick Zano
Where: Beverly Center
Spotted by: The Way Left

Still reeling from the shock of seeing Randy earlier in the day, we were treated to some more celebrity eye candy as we were stopped at a light at the Beverly Center: none other than good-for-nothing Kristin Cavallari & her boyfriend Nick Zano (he co-starred opposite Amanda Bynes in What I Like About You). They looked like they had stepped out of the gym (her, in black stretch pants [insert camel toe joke here], him, in an ill-fitting basketball jersey [Wade]), although the Left and I couldn't find a gym (nor paparazzi) in sight. As they crossed the crosswalk, I couldn't help but honk the car horn (4 times in rapid succession) because any celebrity caught parading around town on a Saturday deserves a little sympathy attention.

Points 2 & 3, the Way Left.

Derby Day

Break out your big funny hat it's Derby day. Since the wiener dog races are coming up, I’ve been working on some names for Red, what do you think... "my red wagon" or "red rocket" sorry that's all I have so far... Red has all of his kibble in one basket for this year's Kentucky Derby the # 16 horse "Circular Quay" is the choice.

you're great. no, really. you are.

I'm sure most of you already know this but just to put it out there, the Left is a pretty amazing person. While most of us are rotting away in front of the boob tube (current obsession: MTV's Taquita & Kaui dubbed "our generation's Bosom Buddies"), the Left's been diligently at work imagining, crafting and creating. Need proof? Fine. Check out his newly launced website at www.justontucker.com.

And not to take away Red's thunder, he's also been diligently at work eating pens, knocking over paint cans, and gnawing away at the Left's drawing station.

I salute you both.

Red wishes you a special birthday...

A happy birthday shoutout goes to our favorite mommy-to-be, MB!

All those in favor of a new duvet cover for the Left?
Aye.
