TURKEY WEEKEND part. 1

1:55 am early, early thanksgiving morning myself, the way left, and red get on a big bird and head to the dirty south, for a very eventful weekend. Get to my parents house around 10 am, with a 2 o'clock turkey lunch planned, we decided to close our eyes for a bit, in anticipation to the family arriving. Blackout through almost all of the dinner except for spending some quality time with my grandma, and then we were off to the Georgia Dome, to see my Falcons play the Colts great seats, (thanks mom) we lose the game after starting with great promise, same song every week.... I'm going to let the way left finishing the story in part. 2..

recap

Just got my shipment from usbgeek.com which means posting may now resume. I was going to write something about how the Left, Red and I had taken a brief hiatus from the blog to show our support for the writers' strike but that would have been a lie and in poor taste. So here's what we've been up to:

We went to Chicago (Red went to camp) to support our friend Chris and the launch of his new magazine, annalemma:

There was a reading at a classy bar, along with some classy patrons:

We were somewhat prepared for the weather:

...but not at all prepared for the amazing wallpaper at the local watering hole:

Nor the headless chicken at the zoo:

And the Freedom Museum in downtown gave us a glimpse into the future:

And Red? He spent the weekend brushing up on his obedience skills (check out his little tail, he's so excited):

Sometimes he gets so excited, he starts the tricks before you can get the commands out:

It's been rough!

Rough couple of days.. Here are the “low lights”
Thursday: Red had an early dinner, (dinner being my couch).
Friday: Red thought the puppy “the way left” brought home was a squeak toy.
Saturday: Some dumb girl wreaked into my car and 2 others on the street outside my house.
Sunday: Lost what would amount to “the way lefts” car payment on the Patriots game, yes they won the game but they did NOT cover the spread.
Monday: Got a rental car, PT Cruiser (need I say more).
Unlike this photo, where Red is half asleep, and being good, he is bouncing off the walls as we speak. I guess there is always Tuesday...
