March Madness is in full swing, everyone: it's bracket season. One tell-tale sign is that after being 16 jack-and-cokes deep from the night before, the Left still managed to get up at a reasonable hour to go watch the games at the sports bar. Red and I thought we'd enjoy the unbelievably warm weather at the dog park. Some pictures from the drive up:

On the way back, I got a little tired. So I thought I'd let Red have his turn at the wheel:

friday night lights
Red and I finally got to see what all the hubbub was about at the new BCAM addition at LACMA. Here it is in all it's 2.0 megapixel glory:
If you're ever in the area, make sure to stop by and take a look for yourself. And make sure to say hello to Larry the night watchman while you're there.

art friday
happy, happy
friday, schmriday
Need a Friday morning pick me up? YouTube can help! Aside from Brian's Peanut Butter Jelly Time dance, this video I found (aptly named "Dachshund Swim") may do the trick:

headgear
I always thought the Left was the fashionista of the house, with his matching Burberry wallet & glasses, Marc Jacobs backpack and all. But thanks to seester's gift we received today, I think that Red has become a force to be reckoned with.

a house still divided
A house still divided - although a little apathetic at this point as the race drags on. I put this up the other day when the Left wasn't looking:
(Disregard the holes in the curtain. We're not poor - our dog just likes to eat stuff).

secret connection
Last week, I came home early one day from work to walk the Big before going to class. He didn't seem as chipper as usual and in hindsight I now have a strange feeling he was trying to convince me to just stay home with him. Looking at these pictures from that day, it's pretty clear this was the case. Check out the hand placement in some of these:
It may just be spring/summer creeping up on us but Red and I have been feeling real lazy lately.

weekend without bernie
As most of you know, the Left was in Sin City this weekend celebrating his birthday in a major way which left Red and I to succumb to our biggest collective vice: laziness. Between our naps and cuddling, I found out some interesting things about my #1 dog.
1. Red is comfortable sitting this way. Nubs:
2. If you catch Red right after he gets up from a nap (and still in a sort of post-nap stupor) he'll let you pose him however way you'd like:
(He held this pose for quite some time before collapsing)
3. Red likes to sleep surrounded by his toys/bones. It must have to do with security or something. Here, he sleeps with an actual rawhide underneath his littlle noggin (and another one by his little feets):
4. If I have keys in my hand or my purse on my shoulder, the dog knows that I'm leaving. And when I reach in for that goodbye rubdown, he strikes this pose:
And he freaking holds it until the door closes shut!:
5. Couple times, I caught Red just staring at the door, just willing the Left to return home:
Well, the Left returned home, the dog is happy and all is well with the world once again.
